A barely noticeable whisper spread through the church. Everyone felt the heavy smell coming from him. A few women flinched, and the men turned away to move as far from him as possible. No one wanted to have anything to do with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The homeless man, realizing this, didn\u2019t even look at the benches. He knew he was dirty; he knew that normal people would not accept him. So he simply knelt on the cold floor and crossed his hands in prayer. His lips whispered words that almost no one could hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the parishioners continued exchanging glances.<br>\u2014 \u201cWhat is he doing here?\u201d<br>\u2014 \u201cWhat a disgrace\u2026\u201d<br>\u2014 \u201cHe has nothing to look for here.\u201d<br>And even in the church, they could not rest from people like him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Someone stood up and left, unwilling to sit next to \u201csuch a man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And at that moment, the priest interrupted the mass. He slowly descended from the altar and approached the homeless man. The crowd froze. Come, sit beside me at the altar. Together, we shall pray and ask for God\u2019s help. Perhaps, through our prayers, He will touch our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After these words, the priest turned toward the congregation and said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 \u201cLook at him. He is one of us. Maybe his soul is purer than ours, for he has suffered for others, while we have only sought comfort for ourselves. But today we all can learn something from him \u2014 humility, kindness, and the true power of faith. For indeed, God may be standing among us in the image of this man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These words, it seemed, broke through the walls of the parishioners\u2019 hearts. Many lowered their heads, unable to meet each other\u2019s eyes.
